Thank you all for your sweet comments about little Lucy. I can't believe she's already 4 weeks old today, time is just flying by.
Before this event is over, I just wanted to share with you trafalgar's square's feature on Zulily (you can find it here). Tomorrow is the last day you can buy our prints at a hugely discounted price, so hurry over and take a look.
I've never offered limited edition prints before, but I am excited to announce that there are a number of limited edition prints we have premiering at this event. One in particular is an alphabet print I am button-bursting proud of:
I've always wanted to create an animal alphabet, but I never could come up with the right design and layout. Never, that is, until I was about three weeks from my due date with Lucy. I spent the next week sketching pages and pages of animal heads-I wanted this print to have a bit of sophistication about it, so I sketched adult animals rather than babies. Then came the watercoloring and this gave me the biggest headache. I looked through pages and pages of nurseries in books, magazines, and online. This print needed to not be primary-colorish, I needed something elegant, clean, and whimsical, something that would look beautiful in any baby's room, whether boy or girl. So, when I happened upon this image, I was ecstatic.
I am so pleased with the way this painting turned out. It was quite the challenge putting it together as far as timing went, but maybe all those baby-anitcipatory emotions I had at the time helped make this become a reality.
Quick note: the limited edition of this print is a 13x19, but there is also an 8x10 open-edition available. Don't let the blown out colors of the photograph dissuade you, these prints are gorgeous! :)
